He was such a joy to photograph, although getting him to sleep was my biggest challenge so far. Eventually though we got him to sleep for all of ten minutes, but it was enough!Then we got to take some pictures of him with his big sis! I remember doing her newborn pictures! she is so cute! Meet Ben and Emily! They are getting married, and they are adorable! Ben and Emily are die-hard Aggies(whoop!)(PS don't yell at me for whooping without the degree!), so for the first part of their shoot we hit up TAMU campus! We had fun playing at one of the cool old buildings on campus(that i secretly say looks like a Mad Scientist Building) and then we hit up the century tree(where Ben proposed! Like any good Aggie boy would!). We had tons of fun! Poor Ben had to borrow his roomie's boots though(and they were a tad small!) so we would take pictures and he would throw on some tennis shoes and we would walk, and then he would change back! It was fun though and for the 2nd part of their shoot they are going to road-trip out to my farm and have the 2nd part of their shoot! So stay tuned! But here is part one!

Meet Otha(Named after his great grandfather) and Becca. They are the cutest couple in the orchard...yep the pecan orchard! They were part of a styled wedding shoot at the Royalty Pecan Farms pecan orchard! This company has begun the switch over to becoming a wedding venue and they are AMAZING! You know what else is amazing? This couple! They were rock stars, They knew exactly what to do without even being told! I was blow away by how awesomely they worked the camera! It was without a doubt the cutest wedding reception ever! If I were you I would seriously check this venue out!

Retail Therapy

I love retail therapy. I think this is an amazing way to relieve tension, stress, and worry! Luckily my form of retail therapy is heading to a flea market and looking through every dingy booth and dirty trailer looking for something awesome to decorate with or use in photos! Its amazing what you can find when you go to places like these! For instance, once I found 3 old windows without glass, but still had their awesome latches...so what did I do? I turned them into a collaged chalk board...all for the grand total of 10.00 including the chalkboard paint! This type of retail therapy should keep whoever I marry happy because It won't cost him a lot! On a different note here are some images from one of my recent jaunts! This is from a place called Canton, and if you have ever been there you know how amazingly awesome it is! and if you haven't been...you should...its a law somewhere that you should go at least once..it is... i promise...

I love scales! I love photographing newborns and Scales just work wonders for their photos!

I just love old golf clubs! My grandfather and my uncles all played and they even taught me! I played in high school...I think i might start again!

Since my sister is having a baby soon, I seem to be drawn to all things kiddo and since I love books, I though "Why Not?"

I have shoot coming up entitled "High Tea" and I am always on the lookout for cool dining-ware...and silverware just happens to be my major weakness! And this knife called to me with the "M" since my family name is Mizell!

And last but not least I can never pass up a cool old camera! I love cameras( I wonder why?) and having a fast growing collection of them! This little Traveler just caught my eye and it was so cute!

So I have recently discovered that I am a bad blogger, but I'm going to buck up and barge through my issues! Needless to say I have no problem talking, so I'm just going to pretend we are having a nice long conversation! There are some big changes coming to Split Second Photography. The foremost being a change of name. After much deliberation and soul searching I have decided to change the name of my business. In a couple of weeks I will be announcing the new name! Although I have always loved Split Second, it has come to my attention that as my business grows and as I grow as a person that this new name is something that is me and will continue to grow with me! But for today, I will leave you with an image that has made my day better and I hope your day is better as well! This image comes from my sister's baby shower! She is having a boy and his name will be Paden, and that means I'm going to be an aunt...and that is so totally amazingly awesome!

The word breakfast originally came from the saying "to break one's fast." In mid-evil times people would awaken every morning and break the night-long fast; the saying was later shortened to the simple Breakfast. So in honor of one of my favorite meals of the day I decided to do a sunrise breakfast shoot with a couple of balloons thrown in. Part one of this shoot is simply the set up and the models at breakfast. Part two will be where we played with the balloons! I spent my first night in my new house(BY MYSELF), needless to say I went to my parents and stole their dog because my house was to empty...unfortunately I have to give him back today! What do you get when you put together 1 1/2 tables, 2 table-cloths, over 120 candles, seven lanterns, six windows,some pretty awesome containers(jars), and some really cool books? an AWESOME outdoor photo shoot!!! I did a country vintage shoot that lasted through the day and into the night!It never got higher than 40 degrees! But my model roughed it and did a great job! Here you go!

Balloons!!!!

So I recently decided to do a photo shoot that revolved completely around BALLOONS!!! I was super excited( I'm pretty sure 5 yr. olds could not have been more excited). So I went out and grabbed my best friend and dressed her up and made her be my model, luckily she said she trusted me(that's the great thing about best friends...they just go along with the flow!)!!! So I did my shoot! Here are some shots from the day! We went everywhere: open fields in the middle of a city, roof top parking(luckily no one was there), and a new cool spot I found( I'm in love with my new spot!)...so here you go!!! I had a lot of fun with this...WARNING::: balloons and wind DO NOT MIX!!! but it was still fun!We let the balloons go at this point! BYE BYE BALLOONS!!!!

So I did my first senior photo shoot of the year! Thank you Miss Ariel! We had a ton of fun...she, I and her mother trekked around downtown Bryan and got some great shots! Check out her crown...she won homecoming queen!!! and check out the awesome rubber boots! So I got to go shoot the cutest family in Austin today!!! I have never been to Austin and they were so great, they showed me around the entire city and showed me the coolest candy store ever! I am now obsessed with going back just so I can go back to The Big Top Candy Shop!!! I even got to see the inside of our state's capital( which is cool by the way!) So here are some of their photos! A Trip to the Farmer's Market

So Cory and I went to the farmer's market yesterday to take pictures, and we did, but I also got two very lovely hibiscuses...P.S. I love landscaping! So we went from there and just walked around downtown Bryan. Found a very cool little shop called Jim-n-E...Like Jimney Cricket! And the we discovered an old fashioned soda fountain-antique store and had to explore. They hand mixed their own root-beer and I had an amazing root-beer float...It was Heaven in a cup! So here are some of our photos from our day of exploring!

So today I conned two very nice guys into being my new models! They were my band member models! It helps that they actually could play the guitars they are holding. So I finally got some new flowers to grace my new patio!!! They are Gerber Daiseys...Which I might add are my favorite! I got a set of red,yellow,and orange and put the all in one pot...the are so pretty!!! They make me happy on dreary days!
